Corporate Knights Magazine – Marketing & Sales
In 2007, when Up Marketing was engaged to provide sales and marketing services, Corporate Knights was an independent Canadian magazine devoted to Corporate Social Responsibility distributed in selected major cities with the Globe and Mail, with a staff of three and a variable publishing schedule.
By 2012, Corporate Knights’ advertising sales had increased dramatically, thanks in no small part to clients like TD, Suncor, TMX (owner/manager of the TSX), the City of Toronto, Bullfrog Power, and many of Canada’s top Universities – brought in by Up Marketing. Corporate Knights now regularly publishes 4 times yearly with international distribution, supported by an iPad edition and “The Messenger”, a weekly digital publication, branded and developed in conjunction with Up Marketing. Issues include, an Education Issue ranking university programs of sustainability criteria, the Cleantech Issue showcasing our innovation leaders, Responsible Investing and the Global 100 (a ranking of the world`s most sustainable corporations, announced at Corporate Knights annual event at the World Economic Forum in Davos), and their flagship ranking, the Best 50 Corporate Citizens released at the annual Gala.
In early 2013, Up Marketing arranged the marking of Corporate Knights launch of the Council for Clean Capitalism with a launch event hosted by Thomas Kloet and Kevin Cowan at the TSX following Corporate Knights’ ringing of the bell to open the market.
In June of 2013, Corporate Knights was named Canada’s Magazine of The Year. This followed five years of sales and marketing support from Up Marketing, which included placing the TSX’s first ever extraterritorial ad in CK’s US edition and the development of a weekly e-mail news round-up to expand the reach of Corporate Knights and their advertisers farther online.
In June of 2013, Corporate Knights was named Canada’s Magazine of The Year, the day after their annual Gala, attended by Premier Kathleen Wynne.
